"I'm on a mission to support other families who are where I once was."

This is My Story
Your recovery is deeply personal to me.
Like you, I’ve walked the difficult path of supporting a loved one through substance use. I understand the sleepless nights, the constant worry, and the overwhelming emotions that come with it.
For years, I felt stuck—consumed by anxiety, fear, and frustration. I was so focused on trying to fix everything for my loved one that I lost sight of myself. I believed that if I could just make everything better for them, everything would fall into place.
But it wasn’t until I discovered a different approach—one that prioritized healing for both me and my family—that I found the hope and peace I desperately needed.
A Turning Point
For years, I kept our family’s struggles with my child’s substance use hidden, even from those closest to me. I stayed silent, afraid of judgment, and constantly pressured by advice to use “tough love” or to wait for them to “hit rock bottom.”
That approach only deepened the chaos in our home and left me feeling more helpless and exhausted than ever. It was an endless cycle of worry, frustration, and fear—with no way out.
After a pivotal moment, I realized I couldn’t keep living this way. I needed a different path—not just for my child’s sake, but for my own well-being.
A New Path Forward
That’s when I decided to take control of what I could: my own well-being. I became a Health and Mental Health Coach, dedicating myself to understanding substance use, family recovery, and evidence-based approaches that actually work.
What I discovered changed everything. Instead of pushing my child away, I learned how to foster connection, support positive change, and prioritize my own recovery along the way. This shift didn’t just improve my life—it created a ripple effect that touched my entire family.
I Understand How Isolating it Can Feel
I know how isolating it can feel when you’re navigating this journey alone. But I also know that there is a way forward. Recovery is possible—for both your child and you.
You don’t have to walk this path alone. By prioritizing your own recovery, you can create positive change in your life, and in the lives of those around you.

In New Zealand, for every one person struggling with substances, there are on average ten others significantly impacted. Let’s work towards a future, where recovery is not just a possibility, but a reality for every body.
